What is VACUUM CONCRETE?
ØVacuum concrete is concrete in which higher water content is added during the mixing to improve the mixing process and workability.
ØAfter molded, the concrete is subjected to a vacuum dewatering process during the mixing to improve the mixing process and workability.
ØVacuum concrete is widely used for the thin section like slab and wall.
ØConcrete mix for the thin section with a water-cement ratio of 0.50 to 0.6 is required to facilitate the placing and compacting. Such a mix will lead to relatively low strength. Which can be improved by vacuum concrete.
ØThis process is, therefore, reducing the final water/cement ratio and the quality of water to be removed.
ØVacuum concrete attains 28 days compressive strength in 10 days.
